Transparent data practices you can trust
At OpenbooQ, transparency isn't just our business model—it's how we handle your data. This policy explains exactly what information we collect, how we use it, and the control you have over your personal data.
We collect information to provide better roofing services and maintain our commitment to transparency. Here's exactly what we collect and why:
We use your information to deliver exceptional roofing services and maintain our transparent, customer-first approach:
Provide roofing estimates, coordinate installations, and manage projects
Send project updates, support responses, and important notifications
Process payments securely and manage billing information
Analyze usage patterns to enhance our platform and services
Protect your account and prevent unauthorized access
Meet regulatory requirements and resolve disputes
We share your information to deliver your project, to run the site, and to measure our advertising. Here is exactly who receives what, including the sharing you can switch off:
Why the distinction matters: the advertising partners above receive how you used this site, not a copy of your contact details. Under Texas and other state privacy laws that activity still counts as sharing for targeted advertising, so it is disclosed here and it is something you can refuse.
We implement industry-leading security measures to protect your personal information:
All data encrypted in transit and at rest using AES-256 encryption
SOC 2 compliant hosting with regular security audits and monitoring
Multi-factor authentication and role-based access for all team members
Texas and several other states give you the right to opt out of targeted advertising and of the sale or sharing of your personal data. There are two ways to exercise that right here, and both do the same thing.
If your browser or an extension sends the Global Privacy Control signal, we treat it as a valid opt-out. You do not have to tell us anything or click anything — the signal is read before any advertising or analytics tag is requested, so those tags are never loaded in the first place.
Use the Your Privacy Choices page, linked in the footer of every page. It records your choice in a preference cookie that applies across openbooq.com and its subdomains, so you only have to set it once.
Because the preference is stored in a cookie on this browser, clearing your cookies clears it, and it does not carry to other devices or browsers.
What opting out actually does: the tags marked "Does not load if you opt out" under Third-Party Services are not requested at all — no script is fetched and no data leaves your browser for them. It is not a setting passed to those vendors after the fact. If we cannot read your preference for any reason, we treat you as opted out. Two things are unaffected: TrustedForm, which records the consent you give when you submit a form, and the vendors needed to run a feature you chose to use. Opting out never affects your quote, your price or your project.
You have comprehensive control over your personal information. Exercise your rights easily through our self-service tools:
Request a copy of all personal information we have about you.
Update or correct any inaccurate personal information.
Request deletion of your personal information from our systems.
Export your data in a machine-readable format.
Limit how we process your personal information.
Withdraw consent for marketing communications.
Response Time
We will respond to your data rights requests within 30 days. For complex requests, we may extend this period by an additional 60 days with notification.
We retain your information only as long as necessary to provide services and meet legal obligations:
| Data Type | Retention Period | Reason |
|---|---|---|
| Account Information | Until account deletion | Service provision |
| Project Records | 7 years after completion | Warranty support, legal compliance |
| Payment Information | 7 years | Tax and accounting requirements |
| Marketing Data | Until opt-out | Communication preferences |
| Analytics Data | 26 months | Service improvement |
These are the companies that receive data when you use this site, what each one gets, and whether opting out stops it. The list is generated from the site's own configuration, so it stays in step with what actually runs.

At OpenbooQ, we believe that transparency in pricing should extend to transparency in data practices. When you use our platform to get a roof replacement estimate, we collect only the information necessary to provide you with an accurate quote and complete your installation directly. We do not exchange your contact details for money, and we do not pass them to lead brokers or to unrelated companies for their own marketing.
The data we collect — including your address, roof measurements, and contact information — is used to generate your estimate, match you with qualified installers in your service area, and communicate with you about your roofing project. Separately, how you use this site is shared with our advertising and measurement partners so we can tell which of our ads are working; you can switch that off at any time through Your Privacy Choices, and we honour the Global Privacy Control signal automatically. We use industry-standard encryption and security protocols to protect your information at every step of the process.
You have the right to access, correct, or delete any personal information we hold about you at any time. If you have questions about how we handle your data, or if you'd like to exercise your privacy rights, please contact our support team at the information provided in this policy. We are committed to responding to all privacy-related inquiries within 30 days.
